SET DESCRIPTION

The model is a small jet scooter with dark and light grey primarily.

SPECIAL ELEMENTS

new part? lt grey 30248 6x12x1.3 landing skids
dk grey 30303 6x6 "foot"
brown 4x4x4 2 part rock
trans green/yellow (antifreeze) crystal
black 2x2 tile with Rock Raiders drill printing
dk grey 1x2 tile with Rock Raiders control pannel
teal 2x3 low slope with exhaust vent/grille printing
2 small dk grey jet engines
lt grey 4x5 dump bucket

IMPRESSION

This set makes up a nice small jet scooter. Again, the new "foot" is
cleverly used. This set makes better use of the teal part than 4910, though
the printing looks more like an exhaust vent than the front grille it is
used for. Again, you get some nice parts for your money. The new landing
skid is much better looking than most of the landing skids used on the small
town helicopters. I would not call this a juniorized piece (the main thing
which would make it better is if it was 2 pieces).

Since I got two copies, I also build one of the alternate models, with some
modification - especially for the fact that the alternate chosen uses parts
not in the set. I also used the landing skids and dump bucket on the
alternate even though the box doesn't use them. In some ways, I like my
alternate model better than the primary model.

Errors

The box shows an alternate model which uses 1x3 low slopes, which aren't
included (they must have changed the primary model slightly after the box
artwork was partly done, the primary model uses a 1x2 medium slope and a 1x1
brick in a way which probably originally was a 1x3 low slope, but the model
actually works better with the medium slope.

Extra Elements

1 trans yellow/green (antifreeze) 1x1 round plate

CONCLUSION

Several nice parts for a reasonable price. Nice models also.

In lugnet.reviews, Frank Filz writes: <snip> (...) <snip> One nice feature of this part is that it doesn't have any tubes on the bottom to grip bricks. At first I thought this was a drawback until I realized you could use 1xn bricks/plates as rails (...) (25 years ago, 12-Jul-99, to lugnet.reviews)
