I too am young (16 - started LUGNET at 15 ) but I feel that this great place
treats all us youngin's just great.  This begs the question, when do you
become an AFOL?

Do yourself a favor and don't worry about becoming an AFOL.  I'm 33 and I
hope never to be one.  :)

I consider myself an AFOL because I have passed my dark ages, I am
supporting my hobby with my own money and I don't consider Legos as a toy, I
consider it as a hobby. Even though our new friend William here is only 11,
if he has the maturity to interact here, then I would also consider him an
AFOL.  Is this consideration a right way to think?

Finally, since I am a teen, does that make me a TFOL or is there no such
thing as an in-the-middle type label?

I open this topic for discussion, so please discuss.

In all seriousness, I think there is far too much emphasis placed on
labelling folks around here.  Be yourself, that's the best thing I can think
to endeavor to become.

I mean this sincerely when I say that I think things would be smoother
around here if people didn't worry so much about sticking labels on things
and each other.  The compartmentalization has gotten a bit out of hand.
Time to relax..... realize that LEGO now comes in shades other than the
primary colors and start to build new conversations based on bricks, rather
than who qualifies for 'Adult' fan status or not.

P.S. Welcome William and don't ever enter "The Dark Ages", they suck and you
loose many good years...

Yeah, but they're the pimple-ridden awkward years during which you think
you're immortal and clever ..... good riddance to them.  I was never so
happy as the day I realized I *didn't* actually know it all.  :)

All the best,
Allan
