Re: LRGOAA & MichLUG Joint Meeting?

(...) "could be", and *have been*, since way back when, actually. 2001 I think. We've (well, our resident robotics wizard, Steve Ringe has) been using RCX's and other Technic gadgetry for doing things like turntable automation (press a button on the (...)   Re: LRGOAA & MichLUG Joint Meeting?

(...) MichLUG was formed in October of 2000. A bunch of us got together in DeWitt Michigan, showed off some creations, talked about S@H, buying parts online, searching for various deals at stores, etc. Creations were pretty varied in theme, there (...)   Re: LRGOAA & MichLUG Joint Meeting?

(...) MichLUG has members interested in almost every theme LEGO has ever released. We have a diverse group of people, all of whom bring something different to the club. Steve Ringe has some done super neat things with Mindstorms in the past (ex: (...) (20 years ago, 28-Mar-04, to lugnet.org.us.lrgoaa, lugnet.org.us.michlug, FTX)

Re: LRGOAA & MichLUG Joint Meeting?

(...) I'm not sure there'd be enough room to have fully functional robots actually wandering around on an actual theme layout (especially ones with moving trains that could get derailed), but I can think of two options that could work. Robotics (...) (20 years ago, 27-Mar-04, to lugnet.org.us.lrgoaa, lugnet.org.us.michlug, FTX)

Re: LRGOAA & MichLUG Joint Meeting?

(...) Another good reason, I agree. (...) I think the lack of theme crossover is another big reason we haven't gotten together in the past. Looking forward, I can imagine a "show" which has some of our robots wandering around one of your layouts, or (...) (20 years ago, 27-Mar-04, to lugnet.org.us.lrgoaa, lugnet.org.us.michlug, FTX)

Re: LRGOAA & MichLUG Joint Meeting?

(...) The fact that there are at least 1/3rd of our members who don't live in the greater Detroit area probably doesn't help a lot with that. (...) Not at all. We have no reason to resent another Michigan based LEGO club, but there's not really any (...) (20 years ago, 27-Mar-04, to lugnet.org.us.lrgoaa, lugnet.org.us.michlug, FTX)

Re: LRGOAA & MichLUG Joint Meeting?

(...) Hi, hi. (...) We are actually LEGO Robotics centric, not LEGO in general. (...) It is odd we haven't met, although I would have to say that this is due to many factors. Not the least of which would be very busy and conflicting schedules. (...) (...) (20 years ago, 26-Mar-04, to lugnet.org.us.lrgoaa, lugnet.org.us.michlug, FTX)

  LRGOAA & MichLUG Joint Meeting?

Howdy all LRGOAA & MichLUG members, Seeing as how LRGOAA is a LEGO centric club in Michigan and MichLUG is a LEGO centric club in Michigan, it seemed odd (to me) that we have never met. I'd be keen to try and organize a joint meeting. I ran this by (...) (20 years ago, 26-Mar-04, to lugnet.org.us.lrgoaa, lugnet.org.us.michlug, FTX)

  Robolympics

As several of you know, I spent last weekend at Robolympics, in San Francisco... (URL) was a lot of fun. I got to see some combat robots in action (aka Battle Bots), and I took a shot at some non-combat events. I ended up taking seven robots to (...) (20 years ago, 26-Mar-04, to lugnet.org.us.lrgoaa)

  Re: new sensors...

(...) I got both sensors red (cheaper). I don't think I love Spybots too much, but I use them because I have them. I got the first one at BrickFest (on sale, 40% off) and the other I won at the last sumo event. I like to try to use them for every (...) (20 years ago, 19-Mar-04, to lugnet.org.us.lrgoaa)

  Re: new sensors...

  Re: new sensors...

(...) If you're just doing simple line following, they won't work much better than standard light sensors. They are less sensitive to external light, but they are also a little harder to use. Two things to keep in mind: 1) The mounting should be (...) (20 years ago, 17-Mar-04, to lugnet.org.us.lrgoaa)

  new sensors...

I just received (and payed) an invoice from HiTechnic regarding my order of 2 EOPDs and 1 Ultrasonic sensor. It wasn't a verry good time right now, but... those are good to have. I'll see how good are EOPDs for line following. I have also ordered a (...) (20 years ago, 17-Mar-04, to lugnet.org.us.lrgoaa)

  24tooth forum archive now on-line!

After a bit of work, I finally got our old forum on-line in a static archive format. Take a look at: (URL) and let me know what you think.   Re: Trash Day event information

  Re: Trash Day event information
