Hi, all.

Dunno if this is old news, but I heard on the box this morning that there's a
Lego display at the PowerHouse museum in Sydney. They were saying it's straight
from Denmark - hasn't been anywhere else, but were showing the Mindstorms
wall-climber. I thought that'd been to the US already? Maybe they were
referring to the Spielberg movie display - has this been to the US? Or maybe
there's some other little bit of it that's new...
Anyway, apparently it's only 3 days, so have fun...

Not days, months.
Hope this helps
James (who will table a full report on Wednesday)

LEGO ACTION SHOW COMES TO THE POWERHOUSE MUSEUM

The most advanced LEGO robotics display ever to come to Australia - the LEGO
Action Show - comes to the Powerhouse Museum these Christmas school holidays
from December 2 until March 2001.

For the first time in Australia the show incorporates the spectacular
robotic feats of LEGO MINDSTORMS, an interactive product which allows
children to build and program robots that move, act and think on their own.

The Powerhouse Museum will be its only venue in Australia and is the first
of 13 locations throughout Australasia, Japan and India between 2000-2003.
The show has taken 4,601 hours to develop and 182,300 LEGO bricks have been
used to build each of the models.

To celebrate the international launch of the LEGO Action Show, the
Powerhouse Museum will organise a full day of children's entertainment on
Saturday December 2 with free entry to all visitors.

"The LEGO Action Show has come direct from LEGOLAND in Denmark and is the
most advanced LEGO show in the world - it's something of a coup for
Australians to be able to see it first," said LEGO Australia General
Manager, Steven Pensini. "The children will have plenty of opportunities to
play with all of the many different LEGO products and there is something for
everyone regardless how old they are."

Powerhouse Museum Director, Dr Kevin Fewster, said LEGO had made it possible
for kids around the world to practice the universal 'LEGO language' both
virtually and physically.

"The Powerhouse Museum is excited to be able to offer the latest display of
LEGO creations and hands-on attractions throughout the Christmas school
holiday period. Like all the exhibits within the Museum, the Show is
designed to promote curiosity, creativity and imagination."

The LEGO Action Show will showcase the amazing LEGO MINDSTORMS wall climbing
event where two robots compete to reach the top of a wall. When they reach
the top they throw over a rope and abseil down.

Children will also have fun competing in a model soccer stadium and building
a life-size LEGO Darth Vader and R2D2 out of LEGO bricks.

Amongst the 400 sqm show, children can explore the jungle on Dino Island to
find as many dinosaurs as possible. A special play area has also been set
aside for the whole family to experiment with their own LEGO creations.

For the 'bigger kids' the new LEGO Studios Steven Spielberg MovieMaker set
inspires young movie-makers to create real movies. The LEGO Company joined
with Steven Spielberg to develop such an exciting and inspirational new product.

Launched in Australia in November this year, LEGO Studios consists of a PC
movie camera, editing software and a variety of LEGO props which give
children the chance to bring their LEGO adventures to life.

The LEGO Action Show will operate on Level 3 of the Powerhouse Museum, 500
Harris Street Ultimo, from Saturday December 2 until Sunday March 11, 2001.

LEGO products originate from Billund, Denmark, where the LEGO Group was
founded in 1932. The LEGO Group is wholly family owned and comprises 50
countries in six continents.

Entry to the LEGO Action Show is included in the general museum admission price.

The LEGO Action Show is generously supported by Samsung Electronics.
