| | | | | The SLTC are currently attending their first train show at the Hurstville
Aquatic Centre (corner Forest Road and King Georges Road) in southern Sydney.
Today (Monday) is the last day, so any Sydneysiders can nip down for a last look
and say hello.
Thanks to Teunis from the M>ltc who has manned the display for Saturday and
Sunday and helped out in a big way.
Thanks to JP, who as well as speed-building our 10th module and manning the
display, has also provided some online images...

I visited incognito on Sunday (sans Ambassadorial regalia), and was duly
impressed.
My pics (not just of the SLTC display) are at
http://www.maj.com/gallery/rdulin/AMRANSW/
It was great to see (and hear) the crowd response to the LEGO layout... and it
seems the LEGO club will have a few more members after the weekend's effort!
Cheers

Ah, I had not realised they issued you with regalia. I envision something
along the lines of a Harry Potter cloak and a chrome sword?

Monday ended up being the busiest day of the show with a constant stream of
visitors to our display. Before the exhibition opened on Monday we were
presented with the 'childrens' choice award'. The day ended with the SLTC coming
a close 2nd place in the people's choice award. So thanks to all the members who
contributed modules and thanks to those who helped manning the display
especially Anthony and Teunis, thanks to Stump for woodworking and technical
advice. Plus thanks to the families of members who lost their partners for
chunks of the long weekend.

Good Display SLTC,
Congratulations on picking up childrens choice awards.
BLTG also won the Childrens choice award at the recent Toowoomba Model train
show, as well as second in the Peoples choice award. The recognition is great.
I would imagine that they have booked you in for next year already! Good to see
another Lego Train group out there. If only TLC could help by donating train
track or train kits on occasions that would be the icing on the cake.
On behalf of Brisbane Lego Train Group, well done

Thanks :^)
I'm sure the BLTG have heard most of the comments at their shows...
eg. It's all made of LEGO ?
eg. How many brick/blocks are in that ?
eg. Do LEGO do trains ?
eg. Why is the train stopped at the station ?
We will endeavour in the future to have at least current set boxes to display,
images in catalogues just don't cut it. It was a bit difficult explaining the RC
train/9V train situation.

I posted more pictures of the SLTC layout on Brickshelf... see:
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=208411
I still can't believe that I managed to get an entire airfield constructed in
the short period of time that I had to construct my module for the SLTC layout!
There are other photos of my module at:
