Yes, I know it's been done to death, but us non-US AFOLs are gonna keep pounding
it till something changes.
The other day I get an email from S@H. Woohoo!! a new exclusive SW set, the
10134 Y-wing. The pics look great! I figure I'll go check it out. AU$275, seems
a little expensive, so I go check the US price. US$120. Now folks, the poor old
Aussie dollar has been up around 0.70US for MONTHS, and has NEVER got as low as
0.44, as this ratio would suggest. And that is on top of our AU$45 shipping
(recently increased from $40)!!!
Suffice to say I will not be buying this set at that price, even though it would
look great next to all my UCS SW sets. Add to that all the yanks bragging about
how many hundred TRU exclusive "Bonus Bins" they have bought (which of course
will not be available outside NA), and you have a VERY dissatisfied LEGO
shopper. The sooner you realise that these discrepancies are hurting your non-US
sales, the better. Of course, if you're only interested in US sales, please
ignore this post.
I know you hate to hear constant complaining about pricing, when we have no idea
of all the complexities involved, but you're gonna keep hearing it until
something changes for the better.
