I am going to be holding an Off-Road RC racing competition at BricksWest
2003. It will still take me a few days to get the rules together, but I
thought that with the $99 8475's available at Amazon, (see
http://news.lugnet.com/market/shopping/?n=10246) I'd give people the heads
up, so that if they don't have one yet, but would like to participate, they
can take advantage of this deal.
Here's a brief description of how the competition will work:
Competitors will need to modify their "8475 RC Race Buggy"s to use the
auxiliary output to pick up and carry a predefined LEGO object (described in
the rules). There will be an indoor course with hills, sharp turns, loose
Lego, and other obstacles. Competitors must control their RC buggies around
the track, on each lap picking up the object in one location, and drop it
off in another. Three competitors will race at a time, and each race will be
approximately five minutes long. Build your off-road racer to withstand
rough terrain, as well as collisions.
I'll have full rules posted for this competition in a few days.
