Now here's something to ponder...

What's your favorite castle set made by TLC? And please explain *why*.

Okay, I missed participating in your survey that began in February, but I will
answer now.

First off, I have nearly every Castle set ever released.  Of those that I am
missing, 6062, 6041, and 6035 are highest on my wish list now.  Since I own so
many Castle sets, most since they were new, I have a pretty good perspective of
the entire Castle line.

I have the Yellow Castle #375/6075 but have never been too crazy about it since
I prefer to build in Gray.  But a few months ago I built a pretty large (4
baseplates) Yellow Castle of my own design.  I now have a renewed appreciation
for the original YC, or at least for how neat a castle built with only Yellow
bricks can turn out.

There is no simple answer to your question, however.  But I will say that I
think 6086 Black Knight's Castle is my favorite.  I like it better when built
using Gray Castle walls instead of Black, though.
Second on my list of favorites is 6074 Black Falcons Fortress and third place
goes to 6080 Kings Castle (always wondered where the king was).
I mostly build in the style of 6080/6073/7074 and have a difficult time
building on BURPS although the BURP from 6090 is not too bad to work with.

I have not bought any of the new 2000 Castle sets--mostly for financial reasons
and because I am simply not in any rush to get them.  When I do begin to buy
them it will be in pretty good quantities--at least for the sets that contain
the Blue extreme corner slope and the simulated stained-glass window.

If asked to rate the large Castle sets, this is how it would go:

6086
6074
6077
6080
6090
6085
6086
6081
6073
6082
6097

My favorite Castle elements are

All sizes arches, 1x4 and 1x3 are best
half arches and inverse half arches
Castle wall sections, straight are best
diagonal turret pieces from 6082/6090
Red octagonal half-domes from 1906/6082
Castle doors
wagon wheels
minifig body armor piece from 6009, 6086, etc.
small arched Castle windows w/ Black lattic or barbed inserts
minifig pitchfork and horsewhip
any and all sizes of Gray bricks, plates, and slopes

Oh, BTW, I messed up my acronym usage a bit. BURP should be spelled CRAPP in my previous post. Don't know how I confused that, they are clearly different things. __Kevin Salm__ (24 years ago, 3-Apr-00, to lugnet.castle)

Now here's something to ponder... What's your favorite castle set made by TLC (no MOCs Please :-)? And please explain *why*. I'm really interested. I don't have enough castle sets to judge, and I want to know what everyone thinks. I'd really rather (...) (24 years ago, 3-Apr-00, to lugnet.castle)
