One Clip/Two Clip Saddle Question

Hi,
I am restoring some old Castle sets and I find I cannot build the sets
exactly as show in the directions because I am missing a few of the
horse saddles with a clip on only the right side. I also have a few of
the two-clip saddles that I can't definitely place in any other set.
I know that in some cases the parts included for a given set would
differ slightly from those pictured in the instructions. Was there a
point in the production run of the old Castle sets when they switched
from one-clip to two-clip saddles? If so, which sets may have been
affected?
Does anyone have one-clip saddles in black, blue, yellow or red they
would like to trade?

| (...) The same thing is happening to me now that I'm trying to rebuild my sets after 8 years in (pretty uninterrupted) storage. I also have plenty of double-clip saddles I can't place, and a shortage of the singles. The only set I am reasonably sure (...) (24 years ago, 4-Mar-00, to lugnet.castle)
