Not sure if anybody else pointed this out, but:
If you look on page 32 of the Year 2000 Catalogue, you'll discover blue spears
and blue samurai swords in sets 8511 and 8509 respectively.
Just pointing that out... I think they look very strange. But perhaps you
could imagine they were magical/enchanted weapons, compared to the normal
colored ones. :)

Those aren't blue...check your eyes. They are black, normal as can be.

Are my eyes wrong too? Because I see blue spears. Just look at what's holding
the spears, now that's black. I don't know about the swords, but i do know
that I also see red spears, which IMHO I think they're pretty cool.

i haven't seen the actual sets yet, but going by the illustrations in the
2000 colector's guide catalogue, it appears as if:
#8511 ~frost~ has a pair of trans lt.blue spears.
#6513 ~onyx~ rather than trans red spears, these appear to be trans red
lightsabre blade elements.
#8509 ~swamp~ has a pair of samurai swords in either trans lt blue or maybe
aqua/turqoise.
definitely get your eyes checked if they look black.

Yes, after a close inspection, Craig is right *sigh*. Wouldn't have been cool
to get red spears, oh well, I can always get the blue ones :0)

are you referring to the blue-green color in rock raiders? if so, it's
aqua (aquamarine), or turqoise. teal is a much darker color. i've seen
this color referred to as teal before in regards to lego, and have been
looking for an excuse to get this off my chest!

D'oh! Thanks for correcting me! I knew they weren't Teal, but I didn't know
what color to call them.

P.S. Along the same line, can people stop calling the Beige pieces Tan? Tan
is darker, more brown!

He doesn't mean the S@H page 32, but the regular catalog.
Search for the set numbers and you'll see what he means - those are technic
sets, not ninja sets.
And they do look cool...

It looks to me like the blue spears in 8511 might even be trans blue...
The katanas in 8509 looks like they might be teal.
Definitely not black for either of them though.
