Details about registration will be posted once a date has been set. Don't
worry, I think it'll be hard to miss.
As for what I'll be bringing, well assuming I can make it (I am worried that
it may clash with my college graduation ceremony here in the UK), I expect
to bring my castle I've been working on steadily since last summer. There
aren't any really great pics of it online yet, but it is mainly greay and
has two walls, several towers, a cannon battery and a central keep. At this
point it is about 80 by 130 studs or so, but it may get larger if I buy
enough new bricks to lengthen the curtain wall.
I remember talking with Aaron Sneary a while ago about the idea of several
castleheads each bringing a different part of a preplanned castle to
Brickfest, and perhaps now is a good time to air this idea for
lugnet.castle. If we agreed beforehand on the basic dimensions of the walls
and stuff, maybe someone could bring a central keep, someone could bring a
gatehouse and other people coudl bring walls, towers and stuff. People who
didn't have enough bricks or time to bring anything big, could bring smaller
stuff. Last year we created a kind of village with different popele's MOC's
but I didn't get the impression that this had realy been planned beforehand.
With a bit of early planning, I think a bunch of us could collectively come
up with a castle which is bigger than anything certainly I've built before.
Is there any interest for this kind of thing at all? It would let us
continue to use most of our bricks on individual castles, but if say a dozen
of us all built a section for a castle, the final thing could be quite big
and impressive indeed. I will probably have a fair ammount of black brick I
could build something with, assuming I have time between getting back home
and going to brickfest. (Assuming I'm going that is.)
