Re: Ideas for partbin group sorting

(...) I would like to see something that lets parts be in many groups instead of a strict hierarchy... so that, for example, a part could be in "circular", "rounded top" and "stud on top" all at the same time. (13 years ago, 16-Jun-11, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Ideas for partbin group sorting

(...) --snip-- (...) Hi Roland, Had you considered having sub-categories? I'd love to see the following if you could. Bricks -Plain -Patterened -Modified -Panels Plates & Tiles -Plates -Tiles -Patterned tiles -Brackets Round parts -Cones -Dishes (...) (13 years ago, 15-Jun-11, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Ideas for partbin group sorting

Hello all, I've been working on my LDraw editor during my vacation, and I'm wondering on how to populate the partbin by default. The general mechanics are done and I only need to 'sort' the library so it's handy to use during editing. I got the (...) (13 years ago, 15-Jun-11, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: SVG renders possible?

(...) Add the following to LDView's command line: -GL2PSAllowed=1 Alternatively, run regedit, browse into the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\So...are\Travis Cobbs\LDView key, then create a new DWORD value there named GL2PSAllowed, and set it to 1. Once you do (...) (13 years ago, 25-May-11, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: SVG renders possible?

(...) How would I go about enabling this experimental feature? I'd like to try it out on one of my line drawings. Eric Albrecht (13 years ago, 24-May-11, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: MLCad Group

(...) Hi Tore, Jaco has documented it in the LPub4 web page. The idea is that buffer exchange is most commonly used for removing parts from the previous step, but what if you want to remove something from an older step? You could use buffer (...) (13 years ago, 24-May-11, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: MLCad Group

(...) Interesting indeed! Is there any kind of documentation on these META-commands anywhere? I think this may be a better alternative to my unfinished LDSwitch approach(?) /Tore (13 years ago, 24-May-11, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Library search paths.

(...) I would personally advise against it, but can't give a real justification for this recommendation other than the fact that it's non-standard. (...) The spec is very specific about ldconfig.ldr being in the main LDraw directory. LDView (...) (13 years ago, 26-Apr-11, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Library search paths.

(...) <snip> (...) Lars' project looks interesting but my generic LDraw search handling code is all done. I'm only looking for a way to get the 'default out of the box' colors in place upon first start. The user can change that of course but it (...) (13 years ago, 23-Apr-11, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Library search paths.

(...) I don't think you should use the normal search strategy (enhanced or not) for ldconfig.ldr because it's a special case. It's got global scope, and it's not referenced by name in your ldraw files. Tim's on the right track. A good strategy would (...) (13 years ago, 23-Apr-11, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Library search paths.

(...) Well those directories are often write-protected and given other sorts of restrictions. A better place would be {USER}\Documents\ldraw. Tim (13 years ago, 23-Apr-11, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Library search paths.

Hi all, I'm working on my new editor and wondering on how to implement default color loading. I wanted to let the system look for ldconfig.ldr much like normal parts etc, but this won't work cause it's in the root ldraw dir instead of parts or p. So (...)   Re: Questions concerning the implementation of the LDraw Colour Definition Language Extension

(...) Apologies, I thought I was sending to the main lugnet.cad.dev group. I must have mis-clicked. I was actually a little surprised I hadn't received a digest containing my message, but I guess this explains it. (...) I was just curious, because (...) (13 years ago, 7-Apr-11, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: SVG renders possible?

(...) Actually, I'm not hammering away at it. I put the support in back in May of 2008, but I haven't really done much with it since then. --Travis (13 years ago, 1-Apr-11, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: SVG renders possible?

(...) Wow, I must be getting really old. The deja-vu didn't didn't set in until I slept on it. I can't hardly believe this was 8 years ago. (URL) at that point ldglite already had experimental support for the similar gleps code that seems to have (...) (13 years ago, 1-Apr-11, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: SVG renders possible?

(...) There must be a way to weld all those polygons together and do vertex shading, but I'm sure its no 5 minute programming exercise. --Bram (13 years ago, 1-Apr-11, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: SVG renders possible?

(...) LDView actually has experimental support for this built-in (although it has to be manually enabled via either a command line switch or a registry setting). Unfortunately, it's effectively useless on anything other than individual parts due to (...) (13 years ago, 1-Apr-11, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: SVG renders possible?

(...) Rendering from 3D to 2D vector graphics should be possible: (URL) I don't know how efficient it is. --Bram (13 years ago, 1-Apr-11, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  SVG renders possible?

Is it possible to create a SVG version of a rendering of an LDRaw model? I am only interested in the visible portion, such as what you see from one of the several default views (front, left, back, etc.). -Mike (13 years ago, 31-Mar-11, to lugnet.cad.dev)
