VERY nice roses, John. Where were you when we were trying to make roses for
Christina on the spur of the moment? We had a lot of trouble with connecting
the flowers/buds to the stems (although I would argue that we did pretty good
for the amount of time we had and the parts we used.)
|
Thanks. Thats a good question. I didnt even know you did it until the moment
they were presented to her! I will say this: it took a rather long time to
collect the necessary parts to put 12 roses together...
|
I am most interested in how you transitioned from the petals (vertically
aligned plates) to the bud/stem interface. None of the pics on MOCpages had
that.
|
Yeah, Im going to get Ross to LDraw one so folks can see. One of the more
creative techniques was a Ross original, but you probably surmised that
already;-)

Maybe you can leave some of the petals off, all that rotational stuff will be
time consuming, the key points are the directional transitions, I think. Since
we were working from an event kit we had limited SNOT capability in red.
I gotta ask C if those roses made it home in one piece or not... (Im thinking
highly doubtful)

Since I firmly believe hes a better builder than you, and has secretly been
doing some of your best work, yes, it goes without saying that I surmised that
already. :-)
When are you going to start bringing him to cons so he can meet his fanbase?

Hmmm. Maybe some select photos might be better after all...

Well yeah, it took me about a dozen BL orders, and I had many of the parts
already...

Yeah, I already told him Id take him West next year. I never can attend
BrickFest on the East Coast because of the timing:-(

Congrats on 20 years - thats a good start!
