Hinge 1x2 top and SNOT —Didier Enjary
Hi SNOTters, I was playing around with hinges tops and find this : (URL) I don't know if it can be usefull...the building is tight and allow rotation with friction : (URL) and repetition may lead to castle grilles, grids, gates... (URL) Jouez bien, (...) (18 years ago, 1-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.schleim, lugnet.castle, FTX) !!

Re: Hinge 1x2 top and SNOT —Timothy Gould
(...) Hi Didier, I see so much potential in this technique. Seems a great way to do multiple angle adjustments in a small space. I'm sure I'll be using it at some point. Thanks for posting it. Tim (18 years ago, 1-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.schleim, lugnet.castle, FTX)

Re: Hinge 1x2 top and SNOT —Jon Palmer
     (...) This is great! I just tried it out. I think it should be called Dsnot, similar to (URL) Gsnot.> (URL) [ j o n ] (URL) [ z e m i d o t n e t ]> :: creations :: moonbase :: shipyard (18 years ago, 2-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.schleim, lugnet.castle, FTX)

Re: Hinge 1x2 top and SNOT —Didier Enjary
(...) Gsnot is cool! I was not aware of this particular Snot (it should have been Xpost to schleim before). Dsnot, Gsnot...are you planning an alphabet SNOT project similar to the SW ships alphabet project ? ;-) (...) (18 years ago, 2-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.schleim, lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Hinge 1x2 top and SNOT —Timothy Gould
(...) Can I nominate Fsnot for it. I'll give you a hint about that one: the F stands for the type of brick and Erik Amzallag, James Mathis and myself have explored it right in this very forum ;) Tim PS. It's no great secret that I have a little (...) (18 years ago, 2-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.schleim, FTX)

Re: Hinge 1x2 top and SNOT —Jeffery MacEachern
(...) Nice Idea - I did a demo using that about 20min ago, when I saw your post: (2 URLs) (Note that this is not supposed to be accurate to any real engine - it's just a demo of the concept) thanx, Jeffery /* No Comment */ BS: (URL) (18 years ago, 2-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.schleim, lugnet.castle, FTX)

(...) Here's a little variant that should be good for trains and space. Tim (URL) (18 years ago, 2-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.schleim, lugnet.castle, FTX)

Re: Hinge 1x2 top and SNOT —Jeffery MacEachern
(...) Nice Idea - I'll have to use that sometime Jeffery (18 years ago, 2-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.schleim, lugnet.castle, FTX)

Re: Hinge 1x2 top and SNOT —Timothy Gould
(...) Here's a slightly more complex one (URL) might not quite work as pictured but shoule be adjustble to a working form. Tim (18 years ago, 2-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.schleim, lugnet.castle, FTX)

REPLY TO ME Re: Hinge 1x2 top and SNOT —Timothy Gould
--SNIP-- Sorry castleheads. Keep forgetting to remove the .castle from these posts. This one is in .build.schleim only so replies to it won't fill .castle. Sorry! Tim (18 years ago, 2-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.schleim, FTX)

Re: Hinge 1x2 top and SNOT —Ley Ward
(...) Thanks Tim, that is such a cool idea, I had to build it and tweak it a bit. Untweaked with Brickshelf link: (URL) Tweaked with MOCpages link: (URL) Finished with Flickr link: (URL) You can see some notes on MOCpages and some of the (...)           Re: Hinge 1x2 top and SNOT —Timothy Gould
(...) Very nifty work Ley. I like the tiles and using lots of hinge bases rather than just one. What is the plate you're using upside down at the top of the door to hold it in? Must have a hollow stud but I can't work it out, Tim (18 years ago, 5-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.schleim, lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Hinge 1x2 top and SNOT —Ross Crawford
(...) Yep, very neat door. Tim, looks like jumper plates to me. ROSCO (18 years ago, 5-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.schleim, lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Hinge 1x2 top and SNOT —Ley Ward
(...) Ross is correct. I wouldn't have come to that design quite so easily if you hadn't included the jumper plate at the bottom, Tim. This sort of collaborative building is what I really like about this community; I can't wait to see where others (...) (18 years ago, 5-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.schleim, lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Hinge 1x2 top and SNOT —Timothy Gould
(...) Sometimes I just have to admire my own incredible stupidity... jumper plates on bottom = jumper plates on top is kind of deducable. Peace and stupidity, ;) Tim PS. .build.scleim is where it's at (18 years ago, 5-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.schleim, FTX)

Re: Hinge 1x2 top and SNOT —Ley Ward
(...) Heh. I learned to relish those moments right before my palm smacks the middle of my forehead. They may lead to growth, I don't know. Or, perhaps loopy palms... Peace and palm smacking, Professor Whateverly (URL) PS. It's always about the (...) (18 years ago, 6-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.schleim, FTX)

Re: Hinge 1x2 top and SNOT —Andrew Cross
(...) This could create curves, arches or wheels by introducing angling on the sides. Using a technic plate at an angle, this is usable for stair steps. (18 years ago, 4-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.schleim, lugnet.castle, FTX)

Re: Hinge 1x2 top and SNOT —James Trobaugh
(...) Nice idea, for some reason I have tons of these hinge tops with out bases and I've wondered if I'd ever have a use for them. This technique gives me hope of putting them to use, great work! jt (18 years ago, 3-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.schleim, lugnet.castle, FTX)

Re: Hinge 1x2 top and SNOT —Keith Goldman
Didier...I don't have much to add, but wanted to let you know how cool this technique is. I'm planning on using it for some kind of gate or grill, as you suggested, in an upcoming dio. Nice work. -Keith (18 years ago, 3-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.schleim, lugnet.castle, FTX)

Re: Hinge 1x2 top and SNOT —Ondrew Hartigan
(...) cool idea! this could be very usefull in many themes. i look forward to trying it out on a new building. thanks for the tip and happy building, ondrew (18 years ago, 3-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.schleim, lugnet.castle, FTX)

Re: Hinge 1x2 top and SNOT —Michael Rutherford
Mr. Enjary, Excellent! I can’t wait to get home and play with this idea. I have a lot of these hinge heads lying around. There are quite a few possible applications going through my mind right now. Thanks for the inspiration! Attack! Mike (18 years ago, 4-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.schleim, lugnet.castle, FTX)

Re: Hinge 1x2 top and SNOT —Joseph Williams
