For the last year or so I have been playing around with veneering hardwood to
LEGO(R) bricks and have finally gotten the process down efficient enough that I
could complete a project. I wanted to do a photomosaic using these WoodStitches
and decided one of the owner of LEGO would be a good first one to attempt. After
all the founder of LEGO did start by making wooden toys. The final mosaic has
approximately 3000 pieces, mostly 1x1’s and about 35 different woods in it. It
was a great honor to have Kjeld Kristiansen autograph it for me at the recent
BrickFest 2005.
