Strange difference in my 2 'Max Villano' minifigs (Adventurers)

Hi all,
(Sorry for cross post - not sure if this is an adventurers or a minifig
question)

I have a strange question...
I was looking through my collection of minifigs last night and noticed a
strange difference between the 2 'Max Villano' minifigs I have.
Basically they are identical in every way, except the the face on one of
them
is an exact reverse of the other. That is the scar is on the wrong side and
the
face looks like the first one would in a mirror.

Is this by design or did someone attach the printing pad the wrong way?! Has
anyone else noticed this?

The figures came from 5902 River Raft and 5976 River Expedition.

Thanks,

Richard.
