Amy, that is VERY cool and very useful! I look forward to more clothing
designs.

My problem is, the resulting GIF file won't print. If I just print the page
of stickers from my browser I get a tiny box with a red X in it - the
placeholder for an image that isn't there or can't be read (although the
screen shows the page image just fine), and if I save the page image and try
and print it from Paint Shop Pro, I get "an error has occurred while trying
to read from the file". Maybe the file is too big... no, it's tiny, only
1KB. Looks like it's not getting saved properly. I'm trying to print to an
Epson Stylus 640 under Win 95, browser is IE 5.5. When I look at the
properties of the page image in IE, I see only 17 bytes as the size, I think
it is looking at the page (ms.cgi?840492466) rather than the graphic and
that's what's getting saved.

Ugh. Netscape does this, too. Seems they aren't able to save dynamically-
generated images. I can't test the printing since I don't have my printer
connected now, but I suspect it'll fail, too. A solution isn't volunteering
itself tonight, so I'll have to think about this...

BTW, FWIW, I added some rainbow suspenders.

I have more info now. You can save the individual images from the setup page
(including the ones you've changed, which *are* dynamically-generated). I think
what's happening is that images generated by sending data via the POST method on
a form (if that means anything to you) can't be printed or saved. I can get
around this by sending data another way, but that'll have to wait 'til
tomorrow...

Sounds like you are just saving a link to it.  If you right click on the
picture and select "Save Picture As..." it should work, it does for me.

BTW.  Very cool utility, any chance of giving out the information on what to
supply to you, so new sets can be added to the library.  I know for example
that Kevin Hall has a lot of castle torso images that would fit in well with
this.

I've fixed this now. Please let me know if it's working for you, and if you need
to do anything special to get them to print the right size.

I'd need GIF images sized to 213x180 pixels with very simple color schemes. For
example, a tie should be all one color, and not the many similar-but-not-exact
colors that a JPG-to-GIF conversion or a scan of a photo would have. If there
are lots of colors, I'd want help identifying items in the image (e.g. tie) by
their entry in the color map, and I could explain that if someone was actually
interested.

Note that if items should be colored independently I'd want them coded as
separate entries in the color table, even if by default they are the same color.
For example, in my image files the background and the shirt colors are
identified separately, even though they are both white by default.

Depending on how much luck people have scaling these to print correctly, I may
need 178x150 pixel images in addition to the 213x180 versions, for those with
printers with resolution multiples of 300 dpi.

Thanks Amy! It prints now, both from the browser and when I save the file as
a GIF, from Corel Paint. The browser prints a single sticker about 2"
square, though, and I can't see a place to tell it to print at 100% so it
comes out the right size. I can get it to come out the right size via Corel
paint so it's not critical.

I think this is a really excellent little utility, and lots of fun to play
with!
