Hey Norbert,
First, let me say, I'm a big fan of your minifigs. They are awesome. I don't
have the patience for painting (those who can, do, those who can't, just
gawk in amazement at those who can do. Who Do. Er... ), so, wow. Do you have
a tutorial anywhere for making those anime-style hairpieces? I am now
finding modifying stock hair by whittling them down to be too limiting.
Anyway, to hockey...
I can't imagine how you did the winged wheel and blackhawk logos in paint. I
don't recall if the old time sweaters had the players names but if they did,
good luck to ya. Please post pics when they're available. I of course used
decals again. I just finished up the first 6 players (still looking for
white helmets--one advantage of doing old school hockey figs - no helmets to
scrounge for, or at least, not as many):

I am finding the emptiness of missing NHL hockey is lessening as the weeks
wear by and my disgust with both sides of the league reaches new levels I
heretofore did not think possible. I would be very happy to watch women's
hockey instead (I went to Brown, our women's team was always competitive
(the men, not so)), but it's not popular enough to warrant air time on the
television here. [sigh] Anyway, looking forward to those pics of your
minifigs.

Hello Bianca

Thanks for your very interesting followup post.  When I get a bit more • time, I'd
like to comment on some of the aesthetic issues you raise, since I've had • to
deal with similar ones in my own customization work.  However, for lack of • time,
just let me briefly comment on one tangent within your larger email:

The next

Jersey Devils NHL hockey team

Now _there's_ a coincidence...  I've completed two teams (Chicago and • Detroit)
of a "last year of Really Classic Hockey" (aka 1966-67) project.  I'm only • doing
a single home and away figure for each team though.  I've got images taken • of
these, but they're not yet online in my Brickshelf gallery as yet. • Hopefully
soon, after I finish frantic preparations for ParLUGment's train show this
weekend.

(sigh-I miss hockey)

Me, I'm enjoying the great lineup of movies the Canadian Broadcasting
Corporation is showing in place of the watered-down "hockey" we've seen
recently.  (Give me woman's Olympic hockey for choice, these days.  :)  ) • Your
mileage may vary, of course... ;)

and I think I'll be
switching back to using stock heads for that.

Mine use classic smileys, and it rather suits the rather more classic • uniforms
of the Original Six.

Regards,

Norbert Black

H'lo again, Bianca (...) *blush* Thanks - that's kind of you to mention. (...)
