Here are some pictures of my new MOC, the CVN - 65 USS Enterprise Aircraft
Carrier. It took about 20 hours to build, and most of that time was spent on the
hull, as there were so many different angles to make. The model is as accurate
as I could make it with my pieces, but the angle of the offset runway is a bit
off, however, TLC doesn't make pieces with the right angle anyway, so... The
model is mostly light grey, but, at as I was building the front of the hull, I
ran out of light grey pieces and had to use dark grey...
So, please look at the pictures and let me know what you think!

Well, it's about time someone did an aircraft carrier:)! Very nice work overall,
and the off-angle landing strip is clever! You plan to put teeny planes on it?

Good work!

Hey Mark,

I just saw this on Brickshelf and ran over here to sing its praises.  Very well
done.  Like Joe, the thing that stands out most toe is the offset angle of the
runway.  The way you did the hull is very cool, too.

I crossposted this to .microscale, just in case anyone just reads that group, so
they won't miss this MOC.

Nice work!

I have some pics of CVN-65 that I pulled from the web just in case I'd stumble
on LFB's collection of gray .)

Never thought about doing it microscale :)

Again, well done!

I feel kindah silly replying to my own post, but I want to let you all know that
I uploaded more pictures to the Brickshelf gallery, and I also updated the

MOCpages site.

Also, some people want to know if I'm going to make a mini airwing... The planes
would have to be no more than about 1 1/2 studs wide and 2 studs long, so
probably not.

Thanks for the feedback!

I just saw this looking around on brickshelf yesterday, and was very impressed.
I like that you managed to capture the shape of the carrier in a relatively
small MOC.

That's excellent!  The shape is spot on and the little details are
wonderful...ie. the command tower and the peek into the hanger from the aft.

Very cool!

Cheers,

That's a lovely piece of microscale work there, Mark.  Sometimes building on a
small scale like this is far harder than building big.  Very nicely done.
Now where are the microfig scale f-14's for the deck?  :)
