Hi all,
Im usually more of a lurker but the Legofactory contest has really gotten me
intrigued with building in microscale. Ive posted some of my creations so far
on Brickshelf (deep links):
Castle: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=107763
The first MOC I created using LDD
Hospital: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=107755
Includes four floors, a rooftop helipad, helicopter using a few unusual building
techniques, and ambulance. Note that the ambulance uses 1x1 plates with ring to
mount the wheels, instead of the more conventional way.
Marketplace: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=107758
I really like the way the fountain came out in this one.
Street corner: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=107759
Uses 1x1 tiles with one stud to create the half-stud offset stairs (a technique
I borrowed from another microscale builder). Note the color coordinated bus and
bus stop.
Urban scene: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=107760
This is one of my favorites and is really a study in one-wide vehicles. Note the
commuter train, five different cars, and two ships.
Waterfall: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=107761
Another one of my favorites and my first attempt at creating one-wide vehicles,
in this case a train. This MOC only took about 2 hours to create. Note the three
different colors used in the waterfall, the different types of vegetation, the
cabins in the valley, and the mountain climbers camp at the top of the mountain.
The waterfall ended up in 6th place last week (week 3) and the hospital in 7th.
For this weeks contest (week 4) I entered the marketplace, urban scene, and
street corner. Check them out! If you like them, please go to
http://www.legofactory.com and vote for them (and check out all the other
great creations!!) More to come later, Ive got a long list of ideas.
Mark (who is going to find the bricks to build his MOCs).
