After I created the
Little
Bot Series I always wanted to create the next generation Mecha that was more
flexible and poseable than my previous creations. I spent Only Two Days
building it. Two 8 hour building sessions. So thats why the Mecha looks
straight forward and lean. I was pleasantly surprised at the out come.
I was also inspired by
Christopher Snead ,
and the Macro Bot is a direct Ode to him. (Ill get that Palm Plant Hand Stand
soon enough!) :P - Im forever teasing him. ;)

When I was building Jama
I had the good fortune in recieving a nice donation of clear worm gear boxes,
like the kind found in the Vision Command sets.
I used as many as I could on Jama and I had a bunch left over. I used these
clear worm gear boxes as the basis of the Macro Bots Joints:
The Hands are pretty
simple, but I was surprised that they could support the upper body when I posed
the Macro Bot like this.
The Head is pretty
simple and the Macro Bot has no pilot. It was a variation of the
Fly-Bot , of which I took apart
to start this project. I figure this would be a true Robot, so no
Cockpit was built in.
:P
All in all, Im really pleased with its articulation. 15 Worm Gears total.
Its a blast to play with and pose.

One of the things I wanted to prepare in time for this post was an exploded view
of the Mechs joint modules. I plan to do that as part of a Mecha Visual
Refference that I am preparing.
Great, so building this was fast and fun and I was able to meet the goals I
had.
Enjoy and PLMKWYT!
