Hey everyone!

New mecha! Yah!

The tiger was just a testbed for the removable armour idea, this is what it
was supposed to be...

The pics are self explanatory, all of the armour is removable, ALL of it,
except on the arms, the arms are small though, so there wasn't alot of room
for removable armour there,

Lot's of articulation, fifteen points in total, a little too much maybe...:-D

Lot's of detail too, well, as much as I could fit...:-D

I don't really feel like talking much, probably a good thing....anyway...

http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=9844

as always, let me know what you think.

Credits to Chris for the stiffened hinge idea, I used it in the arms and the
legs.

Thanks

-Geordan-

WOW! What can I say? This is simply amazing. A huge leap for you, IMHO.

Your removable armour is great. The posable inner skeleton is terrific. Weapons
are good too. That huge shell firing gun look neat, as does the whip. The
proportions on this mecha are right on too. This used to be my biggest problem
with your mecha, but now you've corrected it.

Also, the protruding chest and small head are typical anime touches. Nice!

I just can't wait to see what you have in store for us next...

;-D

Very Cool!  Are my eyes deceiving me, is that a different color of blue?

My favorite thing is the little antennae in the knee for a piston-like
thingy...very cool!

There is NO SUCH THING as too much articulation! ;-)

nope, probably just the way the pics were taken...despite the help of other
people, I am a terrible photographer, sorry for the crappy quality. :-(

thanks, that was pretty much the first thing came up with, it was originally
gonna be on the tiger, but it didn't fit.

Fantastic mecha, Geordan! Every new model shows your growth in the areas of
articulation and design. The removable armor is something I still haven't
attempted yet, but over time I will try this.

I had only one problem with the design-I didn't care for the hands. Personal
preference-that's all. I just thought they were too large for this model.

Enjoy the 'little' gift I emailed you...

Yep, I think they are too, I don't like them at all either, but they were
the only design that I could come up with that would hold the whip firmly
enough unfortunately. :-/

G-

VERY impressive. I agree with Mladen-- this sets the standard quite high,
not only for yourself, but for any future builders.

The removable armour idea is definitely your territory now-- you've executed
it with passion and professionalism. And the skeleton is excellently
poseable-- just the right amount. If you can perfect the balanace, I'd like
to see it in all kinds of action poses-- get it outside, if it ain't too cold!

fab job, m'man, really nice.

hey, I dunno about that, there are many builders out there that are many
times more skilled than myself, I think that if ou gave this idea to
yourself, or Mladen etc., you guys could work wonders.

The removable armour idea is definitely your territory now--

:-D Well, maybe, at the moment,(i'm the only one so far to try it) I don't
think it will be too long before someone bumps me out of my position though.

Hey, now that's an idea, i've also thought of building some kind of diorama
for it too, like this one:

I've seen this one-- I really like! Great idea to integrate the two-- not
enough of that here, IMO. I like the 'Foundry'-type dioramas, but I've been
wanting to do a 'naturalistic' scene for some time now, too. You'll probably
beat me to it, though!

I know this is probably going to sound strange, but I like the prototype for
the mech better than the mech itself.  Still it is an excellent mech and it
would be good to see what happend to the story line that is to include all of
these mecha :)

Have fun building!

I know this is probably going to sound strange, but I like the prototype for
the mech better than the mech itself.

Really? How do you figure?

The tiger really lacked in some key design elements, and the skeleton within
was terrible, maybe it's just a matter of personal taste.

Still it is an excellent mech and it
would be good to see what happend to the story line that is to include all of
these mecha :)

I won't be including this mecha, and for those of you wondering, I haven't
abandoned the idea of the story, I'm almost complete the site, and the next
few chapters should be very interesting, and up on the site as soon as I can
get them done. I'm aiming for this weekend as the presenting of the site, as
well as the next two chapters, hopefully I'll be able to get it all done in
time.

Bye,

Good job.  I get a feeling that 2002 is going to be a good year for mecha at
the rate I've been seeing stuff come out.

What make up the joints, just hinges?  I'm guessing that you had to come up
with some pretty stiff hinges to make him stay in all those poses.

I LOVE the way you used the small antennae as pistons in the legs.

Just a suggestion: if you have any room under the armor (though it doesn't
look so) add some hoses.  It'll give an air of the delicate bits under the
armor.  Like I say, just a suggestion.  Maybe next one eh?

Is it just me or is your newest a Tai Chi master?

Good job mate

It's Chris Snead's ingenious idea actually, I would have been lost without it,

next mecha model with removable armour.

Thanks for teh tip.

yeah I geuss so, although I think that I could have done more with some of
the joint areas if I had gone with less articulation, like the hips for example.
