I can't tell from the pictures, is there a whole minifigure in that
suit, or is it just a head on top?

mecha is at http://www.etymon.org/kn/pallas/Products/landmate.html.

Cool mech!  It really reminds me of Armored Core.  What was your
influence, if any for the design?  (Anybody know where/if I can still
buy Armored Core II Project Phantasma?)
...Recently, I've begun to really appreciate the
Ball-and-socket joints that are available in the "Thowbots" series.

I got some of these for Christmas, I've been thinking of using them in
some sort of mecha.

example of this type of building is at http://www.etymon.org/kn/dragon.html

Now that kicks butt.  Really great work.  Schwiiinng!
This page says you lived in Japan.  Is your "Pallas Spaceworks" as in
Pallas the asteroid or Pallas the Moon crater?  If it's the asteroid,
then it's one of several weird coincidendes here:

You build mecha, I build mecha.
Your website is based on an asteroid, mine is based in the asteroid
belt.
You've been to Japan, I want to go to Japan (via the NEA Japanese
exchange fellowship)
You have tan carpet, I have tan carpet.
Okay, the last one was a stretch, but still, are you my long lost twin
brother?  ;]

Ball & Socket struts (Throwbots)
Locking Hinges (Starwars models)
"arm" hinges with technic pegs (found in Divers sets as the waldo arms, etc)
Shock absorbers-large & small (best source for these is to order them from S@H)

1x4/2x2 plate hinges are useful, too.  I can't wait to see more of your
creations.  Keep building!
