Hi guys. As you might have heard, I recently had to turn off someone's posting
privileges[1]. I really don't like doing that sort of thing. So, in an effort to
cut down on the likelihood of trouble in the future, let's go over a few basic
things about posting here... (sorry this sounds so preachy)
LUGNET is about using LEGO.
The build.mecha group is seriously awesome. It constantly shows off fabulous
original models and the atmosphere is filled with enthusiasm. The people who
frequent this area are some of the most talented and best-known personalities in
the AFOL community. We don't want to loose any of those voices, right? And we
don't want to turnoff new visitors either! So please keep your discussion
centered around the LEGO hobby. When your conversation starts to become "about
your conversation", it probably should be happening elsewhere.
Know when to drop it.
Some people have a difficult time quitting arguments. Either they're afraid of
losing face, they insist on having the last word, or they demand a certain
reaction from others... Whatever the case: please bow out or move the
conversation BEFORE it becomes a big deal. The longer the argument goes on, the
harder it can be to let it go. So do it sooner rather than later! Everyone will
appreciate it, trust me.
