   Dear lugnet.build.mecha,

After reading about the Beesch and particularly some of the response and encouragement I received here I decided that I would give Mech building a try.

Hey, only “I’m” supposed to misspell, or not know how to’ ...spell the name of my Robot!

Just kidding, that’s a joke.

Of course, the one particular item that amazed me the most from the Beesch was the use of gears to create gravity-defying articulation!!! I loved the challenge and marvelled at Eric’s abilities. I just had to try it out.

Hey great, I’m so glad. Its a challange, lots of fun and makes use of the Technic system building costruction that I enjoy.

After having a few personal discussions with Mark Neumann, he suggested that I should start small without gears and work my way up to a larger worm-geared creation. I agreed.

Mark also suggested that I keep in mind the fact that Mech building is really only a platform with legs. I agreed and let my creativity work from there.

So without further ado, I would like to unveil my first Mech creation: The PlatforMech ABD-I

I would appreciate as many pointers and suggestions (good and bad) as possible since I am already beginning to build a worm-geared, medium-sized (24 gear) version of this same MOC.

Thank you, Brian

Cool, MOC, see now what I like is , that you have pinned down the elements you want your Mech to have, you got all the components in place.

The feet, the ankles, the knees, the legs, the hips, the forward weaponry, the haunched down look, ubber cool, the shoulders, the elbows, the shoulder mounted weapons. All in place. Now explore the ways to build up and build out your designs. Fill in and create. See what parts can help build the way you want your Mech to move and stand.
