Holger, this is indeed a fantastic model.  It is technically complex with • realistic
functions and the finish is very well done.

Thanks!

The treaded crawlers are particularly impressive to me.  I am curious as to • what
exactly "collapses" due to the weight.  Is it something in the drive train • that can't
handle the torque required to move the model?  Or is it the gears that roll on • the
tracks and support the weight of the model?  I built a model of over 10kg that • rode
on tracks like yours and had no such problems.  Obviously you know that one of • the
reasons the real thing is built with tracks is because they can support • enormous
weight.  It seems that the same principles should apply to the model, whether • made
from ABS or steel.

I know the advantages of crawler to carry huge weights on slippery ground. The
problem in the model are the technic axles. The Motor is strong enough, but the
way the "power" goes is to long and there are to many 16 tooth gears to change
directions. But the space to but the motor closer down to the crawlers is very
limited.

But I will try, good to know, that you were able to move 10 kg on Technic
crawlers. (Before I finished the model with all "decorating stuff" it used to
work well.)

In any event, this is a wonderful model.  Best of luck in the contest (I'm • sure your
model will do well).

There are over 150 entries, much of them aren't online by now. We will see ...
