Suggestion:

In addition to "Spotlight", provide an "Agree" rank (other potential candidates
include "Cool", "Informative", "Funny") for members to rate posts on.

I think I've mentioned this before, but I don't see it on the suggestion list,
and I can't seem to find where I had posted it in a seperate thread, so just to
make sure it's here:

Often, there's a big difference between "I think everybody should see this post"
(spotlight) and "I strongly agree with this post" (agree). Presently, because
there's no mechanism to state "I agree" without posting to that effect, I think
users often spotlight a post instead. This (I think) contributes to the large
debates which get brought up to the sidebar so quickly. People want to adamantly
agree with a post somewhere in the middle of a debate, spotlight it, and we see
it inch up the sidebar, when in reality, people may just want to say "I strongly
agree with this post".

Making the categories more dynamic would be an ambitious code change, but if
implimented, could be extended to include things like 'cool' or 'great MOC!',
etc, to effectively allow higher degrees of filtering. Hence, people could look
for posts that contained spotlighted cool mocs, or informative agreed-with posts
in .general.
