I realize the desire here, but I'm sort of a stream of conscious person.
Plus, as an NNTP user, I tend to go for a minimal number of posts. Until we
have an ability to mass authenticate posts, it's just too much of a pain to
authenticate a bunch of posts. And I'm not ready to give up the advantages
in keeping track of what you've read that newsreaders give...
Plus most of these suggestions have been made before, though they were in
response to questions and such, so not in their own thread...
So here's another suggestion :-) (that I've also made before - well, more
something I'd like to do)
A custom NNTP/HTTP client that built from an NNTP client, using NNTP for
reading, but managing the web interface (preferably with minimal
intervention) for posting would be cool. Hey, it could also manage your
posting setups for you... And here's a cool idea from there... Lugnet has
several special posting types where special icons are used. If those icons
were presented on a page in a standard table format, the client could easily
check that page for updates, and use the same icons and descriptions in it's
list of posting setups for you... Sorry for the several suggestions... They
just roll out from the way I start to think. Starting a new post for each of
these would just be painful (and it would lose context).
