Hey, as far as I'm concerned we can merge the two. I for one hardly ever
look at the auction listings because so many postings are just refrences
to e-bay for which I'm not a fan. I reposted the sets for sale on auctions.

Based on the rules, this is an auction, believe it or not ("best offer"
and "bid" seem like dead give aways to me)...

So it probably belongs in .auction not .bst

I'm posting to .admin.general to ask a radical question (and one which
has been asked, and answered before, and one which I don't necessarily
agree with)

Given that this line seems blurry, should we drop the distinction? How
many people REALLY watch .auction and NOT .bst or .bst and NOT .auction?

I copied .auction but set followups to .admin.general, because I'm
asking an adminish kind of question.

(cancelled the first version because I bobbled setting the followups)

Note, please, that this question HAS been asked before, and we may well
decide not to change anything, again, but I feel it may be worth asking
again at this time.

Hi folks

Once again I have some sets to sell off, and once again I'm going to sit
back and let people make offers. The difference is that I'm listing a want
list also and a value on the pieces I'm looking for. So you can buy a set
with money, pieces, or both. The person who gives me the best offer by
midnight on the thursday the 9th off Sept buys the set. One other
difference. If your going to jump in at the last minute with a bid to out
bid someone you must have had another offer in prior to midnight on
the 8th.
I'm going to try my best to keep everyone updated on the sets they are
interested in.
Buyer pays shipping.

Wouldn't it be better if there was a listing for auctions/sales being run on e-bay and the like, and another where people can sell stuff themselves either through a description of the items they are selling, or a link to their web-page. eg (...) (25 years ago, 1-Sep-99, to lugnet.admin.general)
