Another little suggestion - adding new columns at the end will often
eliminate the effect of changes like this (and scripts can even be written
to explicitly expect the possibility of new columns being added at the end).
Of course another way to handle it is if the columns have labels at the top,
scripts could use those labels to find the columns of interest.
