Re: LEGO in Canada (From Samsonite to TLG) 1962-94.

Canadian LEGO sets from 1962 until circa 1990 would be worth more than comparable sets sold in other markets if they were more well known. Here's an example.... the London Bus Set... known as 760 London Bus in the USA, and 384 London Bus in Canada (...) (9 years ago, 1-Mar-15, to lugnet.org.ca)

Oppps.... almost forgot... I was planning to make the Canadian catalogs available in a fashion similar to this.... (URL) a complete set would be awesome! (eh!) Thanks! Gary Istok (9 years ago, 27-Feb-15, to lugnet.org.ca)

Re: The mysterious "WDR" version 6661 Mobile TV Set...

(...) As a followup I did some more digging, and it appears that this set was likely for the 35th anniversary for the WDR TV station of Cologne Germany. The special edition with very rare WDR panels was for the 1 Jan. 1991 35th Anniversary of the (...) (9 years ago, 27-Feb-15, to lugnet.general)

LEGO in Canada (From Samsonite to TLG) 1962-94.

Hi neighbors to the north (well for me that would be neighbors to the east, since I live just 10 miles from the Canadian border north of Detroit)... I have been working on putting together an entire set history and LEGO development history of LEGO (...) (9 years ago, 27-Feb-15, to lugnet.org.ca)

Re: Surprising New Owner of MODULEX....

Wow... talk about Deja Vu.... I just noticed the date... It was 45 years ago today... Oct. 30, 1969... that poor young (18 year old at the time) Hanne Christiansen (younger sister to both Gunhild and Kjeld) died of injuries sustained in a car (...) (9 years ago, 30-Oct-14, to lugnet.general)

  Surprising New Owner of MODULEX....

OK... I need to pay attention to these things better.... ;-) The new re-introduction of diminutive scale Modulex Bricks, which were first produced by TLG as an architectural system in 1962-63 is what I'm talking about... Modulex was a smaller (...) (9 years ago, 30-Oct-14, to lugnet.general)

Re: LEGOLAND® Japan to open in 2017

It's really amazing how popular LEGO has become in Japan... finally!! It took over 30 years for that to happen. When LEGO first arrived in 1962 (thru the Ahashi Corp. as licensee), it was NOT popular, mainly due to distribution problems... That (...)   Re: Updated LEGO Collectors Guide... DVD/download

I've been working on expanding the Castle/Ninja/Pirate chapters of the Unofficial LEGO Sets/Parts Collectors guide (free to current owners), and also working on the 9V Train System. I agree with you John! It's kind of sad that the "diaspora" of AFOLs had continued... we were one big dysfunctional happy family back in the early days before the "Bley Wars". ;-) There are so many sites out there now... many in local languages, (...)
