Some more comments on the page:

The small shock absorbers now (since 1998, eg. 8417) come in two
versions.  The older, softer version, and the newer, harder version.
The newer version can be identified by the smaller number of coil
windings in the spring.

Are you sure the flexible rubber axles first appeared in Znap sets in
1998?  Which sets contain them?  You are sure you are not mistaking
them with the flexible drive axle used in eg 3552 and 3571?

Chi fosse interessato può contattarmi direttamente.

Has anyone gotten the import function of 3DWin to import .dat files?
Everytime I try it I get a "Nothing to Import" message.  Suggestions?

Carlo,

8 Lego - Phantoma (Concept suggestion)
A Haunted House for Lego.

Something is happening inside TLG.....

I went to Hamleys on Saturday and spoke to thier Lego rep and floated the
haunted house idea. He said that he would able to pass on any drawings/Ideas I
had to the relevant people inside Lego (It's apparently a case of WHO to send
them to). I explained about the standrad in-house letters and he explained
that this was an IPR protection on concepts that are already under
development. He seemed to know what he was on about and was quite willing to
talk to me!  He advised me to a send myself a copy of any drawings I made
though? ( Not sure why though?-Is this to do with (C)?) which make thing this
is not one under current development!

It would seem TLG is listening to the fans! I am quite willing to consider
disscusion with TLG over Phantoma but I would love to hear the community views
first. ( A lot of development work is neeeded but has been started by me.)
This is because I don't want to step on anyones toes and It would save time if
someone was already working on it. This said however I would like top be
deeply involved in the development of any concept and would want to protect my
efforts in this area.

If you wish to contact the rep yourself his name is Mike and can be found in
the Lego(R) area on the Second Floor.

I would welcome further discussion and suggestions on the
issues/concepts in my original posting . Preferably on LUGNET, but I can be

I'd say the original Yellow Castle is the best.  The fact that it didn't use
wall pieces (not that I'm against them) means the pieces in that set are most
versatile.  However, I think it would've looked pretty good in gray instead...

Thanks. I was in the process of fixing both my mock-ups to make them

Dear Sirs,
Whilst I accpet that perhaps your traget market has change, I was saddned
by the lines in the 1999 Christmas catalouge. This is not a rant but genuine
upset at the recent dumbing down of your product lines.

I am not annoyed by the recent sets, just very very upset.   By the time I
had finsihed reading through the catalouge I was in tears!  What on earth is
the Lego(R) logo doing on this I thought, it's not Lego(R).

Please halt the slide towards being like other clones which have no value and
which only allow the same things to be made time and time again.

For comparison I looked back at an earlier 1992 catalouge and was suprised at
how good Lego(R) was then.

Please, look back at what you did best and not try to be like other toy
manafcturers who manafacture only for the latest season or fad. I would hate
to see Lego(R) go down the same path as Meccano,Liverpool did in the 70's
(Where are they now?) with worse and worse sets getting tackier and tackier.

Lego(R) should be unique, encourage creativity and not have massive peices for
specfifc purposes. It's what makes it Lego(R)!!!

The Juniourization of parts I feel goes against this and makes Lego(R) like
any other genric consturuction toy. Some people may feel that it also stifles
children's creative and cognitive devlopment(Im no shrink so can't comment
further).

I apologise if this makes some of you feel uncomfortable but it needs to be
said.

This message is really a information exchange:

1. Information from me.
I've just listed some items on ebay, and for some reason they are not
showing on a "UK ONLY" search. If you are even remotely interested in
the lots, go to the lugnet.market.auction group.

2. Information from you.
Why has this happened?

Neozraty = triezvy.sk = strizlivy.cz ;)) Nedavno sme boli v jednom podniku a
pili sme. Vypili sme kazdy asi liter vina a kamarat soferoval. Keby ho

pili jsme v aute.  To jsem byl jeste na vysoky.  Tedy meli jsme tam asi 12
piv.
Me taky jednou zastavil policajt po tom co ja a kamos jsme vypili asi 6 piv.
chtelo zvracet.  Zastavil jsem a on si odskocil.  Potom na dalnici se mu
chtelo zvracet podruhe ;))  Zastavil jsem a cekal nacez prijel policajt vedle
mne a ptal se proc tam stojime.  Ja mu odpovedel protoze muj kamos ma
problem.  On se ptal jaky problem.
pojedeme domu.  On pokynul hlavou a rekl "OK!" a odjel.

Ona ?
Ale nema nic proti tomu.

Tak ji musis koupit nejaky stavebnice abys ji do toho dostal.  Co rika tvoji
izbe kde je lego vsude kolem koukolem? ;))))))

To vazne ???

V praci to je uplne normalni a vsichni spolu jednaji
profesionalne.
jinyho.  To je tak skoro vsude.

Ano... to je bezne podla mna. Uz som aj ja videl vela ludi, co malo dost
slovanske priezvysko ale neboli odtialto. Su to deti, alebo vnuci, mozno
pravnuci emigrantov a oni uz ani nevedia, odkial pochadzaju.

cesky.  Totiz oni by pak mohli mit problemy ve skole s jazykem.

Lugnet seems to have serious problems with non-latin encoding -- I'm not
even using 8-bit encoding methods.  Maybe Todd can look into it?

mohl postavit napriklad steny domku z tehle soucastek.

hot! Hot! HOT!! this is gorgeous, richard!

the second pc even looks like an h.r. giger painting! the light catching
on the side of the all-black head reveals the elaborate plate and brick work
quite nicely. it's so great to see a creation using system, technic, and
throbot elements so fluidly!  please give us a "quick and dirty" close-uo of
the head!!  how many bricks long is it?!  the text description begs detail
shots of this beast's neck and torso workings!

flattered by your mention of my mini-fig alien, i must state for the
record, that i never would have created it in the first place, if you, my
friend, hadn't challenged, inspired, and encouraged me to do it, lo those
many moons ago. i am inspired by other people's creations every day, and it
is very touching when my models and work are a source of inspiration to
others! between you and shiri, right now, i'm downright misty-eyed!

i'm up to my kneecaps (soon to be elbows) in lego dinosaurs right now, so
who out there is up to the challenge (or suicide mission?) of a... <gulp>
full scale alien model?

Your assessment is correct - it would take two valves for a
Lego cylinder just as it does for a fischertechnik cylinder.

Btw, the Dacta Advanced Pneumatics Set (#9633) is a good way
to get into
Lego pneumatics. It includes all the parts for an motorised
air
compressor. Also all the parts except for another motor, for
a motorised
pneumatic valve switch. So you can really compare the
mechanical Lego
pneumatic valve with the Fischertechnik electrical solenoid
valve. Do
post your findings.

My next post on this will come after receiving the kit. Its
good to hear that the mechanical valve design is in the set. I was going to
put one together myself. If you have any good ideas on how best to compare
these two systems let me know.

Volali sme ich "zakladny kamen". Pretoze to je v podstate taky ZAKLADNY • KAMEN

postupne ich bolo stale menej... Dnes uz je ich dost malo. Naposledy som • nasiel
2x4 zakladny kamen v Star Wars Gungan Sub.

Kocka? :)))))  To me dost rozesmalo.  Cesky kocka znamena po slovensky

No ano, ale macka je koc~ka. S hackem na c. ;)) A brick je kocka. Bez • hacku. ;)

Ani se nejdou kouknout do

No a k tym 2x4 kockam. Oni su dostat v dost vela bucketoch. Nielen v 3033.

Nevim zda koupit ty dva ultimate
collection star wars sety.  Asi nejdrive pockam az je nekdo ohodnoti.  Ten x-
Jinak, vlastnis nejaky
legovy modely?  tedy podobny tomu drakovi ktery tvuj kamos mel na ebay?

No ani ja uz... Ale BOLO TO TAM ! ;) Neviem... mozno som zle videl teraz, • alebo
co... Nechapem. Ved tam som si to prezeral. Mozno to je tam niekde zasite...
Alebo zeby to bolo inde ? ;)) nie... mne sa zda, ze to bolo na 100% tam.

Taky jsem delal neco v L-draw.  Je to pekny program az na to ze je to v MS-
Dos.
soucastku ktera nebyla v L-draw.  Tak dokoncenej model mel v sobe diry :)

Another note about the crew picture -- the background was actually the
underside of a green baseplate.  I changed the colour, and was quite pleased

It was actually a tan hair piece, but I edited the colour in Photoshop
because I'm planning for him to have brown hair once my S@H order arrives.
Due to the extremely poor quality of that part of the scan, I ended up
settling for a reddish-brown (which actually looks better than the real
brown will probably look).

Some of you emailed me direct I know but thought I would broadcast a reply.

It was a disappointing haul this week I am afraid. Not cause he didnt have
anything but cause someone beat me to it!
I got there around 9.30am and he said that someone had come early and bought
nearly everything he had that day. (perhaps they read my post!)
All that were left was a 8001 (£13.50) which I bought for myself, plus some
discontinued sets that are available half price in Entertainer anyway.

However, my parents now go to this place every week and he will be getting
more in. so hopefully by the time of the legofest on 11th march I will have
some items.
